Tourism Based on Cultural Heritage
Case: San Pedro Parish, Capital District

This article reflects the author's vision on identity and heritage, from authors such as Tylor (1871) and Colombres (2009), and in consideration of Brubaker and Cooper (2001) and Meyerson (1930), to from there consider the importance and validity of these terms and being able to visualize them in relation to tourism, then generating a conjugation that promotes knowing, experiencing and educating from the understanding of the reality of society. To achieve this integration and propose the San Pedro parish of the Capital District as a tourist heritage alternative, Andrei, Nedea and Pop (2001), Pinassi (2017), Pastor (2003) and Velasco (2009) are considered, whose contributions together They provide a methodology that is based on documentary and historical-social research, allowing us to understand through reflection the heritage realities and their impact on the societies or communities in which they are located, thereby visualizing the implementation of tourist actions that manage to promote, care for, educate and restore heritage. To achieve a heritage tourism proposal for the San Pedro parish, both its heritage and its commercial infrastructure, its social spaces, its demographics, location and relationship with the rest of the city of Caracas are analyzed, all in accordance with Velasco (2009). ) and the importance of communities in the care and promotion of the cultural heritage present in their environments. Finally, and in consideration of an assessment of the heritage of the San Pedro parish based on Administrative Providence No. 019/09 (2009), UNESCO (2004) and IAM (2015), a traditional and virtual tourism plan is proposed in consideration to the promotion and protection of heritage.
