Abstract

Working under constant stress can result in chronic exhaustion, musculoskeletal disorders, and psychological problems that negatively impact concentration and decision-making. The main objective was to analyze the occupational health status of ambulance personnel within the Buena Fe Fire Department. The most relevant results describe a high level of stress and emotional distress among ambulance workers, confirming the correlation between rotating shifts, sleep disorders, and reduced psychological well-being. Taken together, the four authors analyzed provide a solid foundation that supports the empirical evidence found, making it possible to understand that the risks faced by ambulance personnel are multidimensional and require comprehensive interventions at the institutional level. The findings indicate that the organizational, emotional, and physical factors inherent in prehospital work under extremely difficult conditions have a significant impact on the occupational health of paramedics at the Buena Fe State Fire Department. As international organizations and recent studies point out, frequent exposure to emergencies, prolonged work shifts, and traumatic circumstances always have a negative impact on the overall health of workers.
