Abstract

Occupational safety in greenhouses is a key aspect of ensuring decent and productive working conditions in agricultur to ensure decent and productive working conditions in agriculture. This research aimed to identify the main occupational hazards in the greenhouse environment and the protection strategies that can be implemented to mitigate them effectively. It was carried out at ProcesFresh, a company located in Yaruquí, dedicated to the cultivation and marketing of cherry tomatoes and strawberries. The study applied two methodological tools: observation sheets, aimed at the daily activities of the workers, and a literature review based on the PRISMA methodology, selecting seven key studies from the last 10 years. The results showed that ProcesFresh has a team of seven workers, who are exposed to various risks, including extreme temperatures, exposure to agrochemicals, forced postures, excessive workload and poor use of personal protective equipment (PPE). In addition, there was a lack of formal occupational safety training. The risk level assessment revealed that several of these conditions are important and require urgent attention. Through this analysis, it is concluded that the implementation of preventive measures, such as improving of preventive measures, such as improved ventilation, task rotation, proper use of PPE and continuous training, is essential to protect workers' health and improve work performance. This research not only makes visible the importance of occupational safety in greenhouse agriculture, but also proposes a comprehensive approach that allows ProcesFresh to move towards a safer, more efficient and responsible production.
