Abstract

The present research is a bibliographic review study with a logical-inductive approach that analyzes occupational risks in the Micro Business Advisory and Services Office in Sangolquí. Its main objective is to identify the primary risk factors, their impact on workers' health and productivity. A detailed documentary review was conducted focusing on ergonomic, psychosocial, and physical risks. Ergonomic risks include improper postures, prolonged computer use, and inadequate furniture, leading to musculoskeletal disorders such as back, neck, and wrist pain. Poor lighting also contributes to visual fatigue, headaches, and progressive vision loss. The lack of ergonomic furniture and active breaks increases the likelihood of long-term injuries, negatively affecting workers' efficiency and comfort. Regarding psychosocial risks, the study found that work-related stress, excessive workloads, and lack of recognition negatively impact employee motivation and emotional well-being. Poor communication and inadequate leadership generate anxiety, demotivation, and workplace conflicts. Additionally, workplace harassment, constant pressure can result in severe mental health issues, significantly reducing productivity. Physical risks include inadequate lighting, which causes visual fatigue and decreases performance. Poor lighting conditions can increase errors and long-term health problems. As preventive measures, it is recommended to improve workplace ergonomics, promote active breaks, optimize lighting, and implement wellness programs. Additionally, training in occupational risk prevention and adherence to safety regulations can help create a healthier and more efficient work environment. The study concludes that ergonomic, psychosocial, and physical risks significantly affect employees' health and productivity. Implementing effective prevention strategies is essential to fostering a safer, healthier, and more productive workplace.
