Impact of Communication and Information Technologies on Academic Management in Universities.

The purpose of the present study is to understand the impact of communication and information technologies on academic management in universities, which was carried out based on the ideas of the postpositivist paradigm, with an interpretive approach, having the Phenomenological-Hermeneutical study method. assumed by Spielgerber (1975), the National Experimental University of the Central Western Llanos “Ezequiel Zamora” was considered as the research setting and which specifically corresponds to the Vice-Rectorate of Planning and Regional Development (VPDR), which corresponds to the state of Apure, and the five (05) key informants, which were made up of: one (01) vice-rector, one (01) head of academic program, one (01) head of administrative unit, one (01) member of the teaching staff and one (01) member of the administrative staff, the information collection techniques were participant observation and semi-structured interview, while the following were used as information analysis techniques: categorization, structuring, triangulation and theorization. It is reflected that the current era in university education should favor a process of reflection on the importance and implications that arise from the use of information and communication technologies, to contribute to management, offering elements of conviction for an innovative, quality education that responds to the surrounding reality.
