This research presents an analysis of the hazards that may arise during the ignition, operation, and shutdown of the steam boiler at CARTOGAR, a company dedicated to the manufacturing and commercialization of all types of boxes, creating packaging solutions for various businesses and logistics sectors in the area. The importance of proper operation of these machines comes with significant responsibility. Therefore, the person in charge must be qualified, with high safety standards and extensive experience in boiler maintenance and repair. The indirect deductive methodology was used, conducting site visits to verify how the boiler ignition, operation, and shutdown processes were carried out. Each step taken by the operator was observed, analyzing their routine and sequence, and confirming that no documents existed to certify the work performed. A clear risk was identified due to improper handling of the equipment. Therefore, the main goal of this research is to provide the company with a document that will help the operator establish a systematic culture for handling the boiler. This includes the creation of a Safe Work Procedure Manual for the ignition, operation, and shutdown of the CARTOGAR cardboard factory. The final pages of the document include this manual and the bibliographic references used to gather the necessary information for its creation. This manual aims to reduce risks associated with boiler operations and ensure a safer work environment for the personnel involved in maintenance and operation, thus improving safety standards and preventing potential hazards caused by improper handling or maintenance of the equipment.
