Abstract

This research is oriented to risk management based on safe work methods for firefighters fighting forest fires in the city of Ambato. Through the experience acquired in the scourges of 2024, it has been necessary to know a proactive work guideline that involves the knowledge of the participating sectors in order to respond to the expectations of society. For this reason, documents associated with the description of what happened in the previous year were reviewed, with which the problem and its dimension during the end of 2024 were analyzed, taking into account the difficulties presented by public entities in the allocation of resources and in the subsequent acquisition of equipment. It was evidenced that the Fire Department has positive and negative aspects within its daily management, which becomes significant in times of crisis and it is for this reason, that the present work sought the knowledge of strategies and actions that allow it to be a guideline to be taken into account within the creation of a proactive work environment for the benefit of the requirements of the Ecuadorian society affected by forest fires.
