Abstract

Within the framework of the complexity of social realities and uncertainty as a result of the techno-scientific advances that characterize today's society, new challenges are generated for education in general and distance education in particular, including the possibility of multimodality. educational. Hence, the objective of the paper is to argue about the need to reformulate the bases of education and therefore the necessary change of the teacher. Product of a documentary review and the author's experience on the subject, it can be concluded in a proposal for a synergistic multimodal education characterized by being transdisciplinary, which implies shared responsibilities, which promotes self-learning, is natural, with multiple meanings. Therefore, the teacher must also be resignified, characterizing it as technological, renewed, affective, generator of new links and knowledge.
