Abstract

This article aimed to examine the influence of psychosocial factors on workers’ job efficiency within the scope of occupational health and safety. The study was conducted using a systematic review methodology with a qualitative approach, which involved searching, evaluating, synthesizing, and analyzing previous studies. From these, the most relevant data were extracted based on the pertinence of their objectives, the findings they presented, and the conclusions they reached, in alignment with the purpose of this research. These academic contributions ultimately helped identify the effects of such factors on occupational health and their resulting impact on labor productivity. The research underscores a clear relationship between psicosocial factors—such as workload, time management, leadership style, workplace environment, recognition (or lack thereof) of employee achievements, and violence or mistreatment within the work setting— and their direct repercussions on employees’ mental health. These conditions negatively influence quality of life and emotional well-being, thereby reducing job performance. The impact extends beyond the individual level to the organizational dimension, compromising overall productivity. Consequently, these factors must now be regarded as core elements of occupational health strategies and policy development within institutions. Findings make it evident that emotionally stable employees exhibit higher performance, improved team cohesion, greater collaboration, and lower staff turnover. Organizations that overlook these aspects face adverse consequences in productivity. Therefore, implementing programs that promote occupational health should not be considered an expense, but rather a strategic investment for institutions that understand the critical influence of psychosocial well-being on operational eficiencia and organizational stability.
