Management by competences from the perspective of university management a phenomenological view

The complex nature of university management constitutes an epistemological condition for competency-based management as a scientific process aimed at enhancing the performance of human organizations. The purpose of the research was to understand the Management by Competences that underlies the experiences of the personnel that fulfills the Managerial functions at the National Experimental University Simón Rodríguez Nucleo Valera, Trujillo State. This study was theoretically based on authors such as García-Sáiz (2011), Tobón (2005), Alles, (2006), Incháustegui, (2019), among others. The research is inserted in the methodologically oriented qualitative paradigm, by the phenomenological approach and the hermeneutic method. In-depth interview was used as a technique. The informants were people who perform managerial functions. Likewise, three (3) categories emerged as a result of the investigative process: Management Knowledge, The Humanist Being and Skills of Doing. Which were subsequently triangulated and interpreted to conceive the reflections of Management by Competences from the perspective of University Management.
