Abstract

An investigation was carried out whose purpose was to analyze university education in tourism in a society where information and knowledge have been considered relevant factors for knowledge management in the field of education. For this reason, a documentary investigation was made, which was based on the consultation, review and analysis of different documents related to the topic. The information gathered was interpreted to reflect on the role of the Venezuelan university in the training of tourism professionals, in response to the obligation to renew practices related to production and knowledge management modes, according to the progress that communication technologies have made; thus, it is the teacher's role to make a contribution in relation to the transformations in classroom practices in the curricular administration within the university scenarios, so that they are in tune with the changes that are experienced in the world context in terms of training the professionals of tourism.
