Diagnosis of Entrepreneurship with a Social Approach in Venezuela

Abstract

Entrepreneurship with a social focus emerges as an alternative to the traditional economic model, seeking a balance between economic profitability and the generation of a positive impact on society and the environment. The objective of this research is to know the current situation of entrepreneurship with a social focus in Venezuela. To this end, it is described how the political, economic, social and cultural dimensions impact the development of this type of entrepreneurship in the country. A descriptive qualitative methodology was used based on documentary review and an opinion survey was applied. Currently, initial entrepreneurial activity and ownership of companies established in Venezuela has increased compared to 2022, which means that the adult population is increasingly involved in entrepreneurial activities. Entrepreneurship with a social focus is an evolution of traditional social entrepreneurship, incorporating a more strategic and efficient approach to generating triple impact, which guides decision-making and actions. The exploration of the political, economic, social and cultural dimensions is favorable for this type of entrepreneurship, according to the opinion of experts. In closing, although the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Venezuela is talented, awareness must be raised about the importance of entrepreneurship with a social focus as a tool to improve the quality of life of people, especially in the most vulnerable groups.
