This research focused on the analysis of occupational risks faced by technicians at the National Secretariat for Risk Management (SNGR), Zone 9. In relation to the various types of disasters that have periodically occurred in Ecuador, the knowledge of the management of the aforementioned risks and effects carried out by the public entity in order to respond to the needs of the participants and the performance aspired by the community as an affected party has been significant. For the aforementioned reasons, documentation related to the topic of interest was reviewed; additionally, to the extent possible, native information was collected from technicians who are part of the organization and who have a perception of the scope of the research on the difficulties that arise in the public entity in the aspects of: resource allocation, acquisition of equipment, controls, training, among others. It was evident that the SNGR's risk management system has both negative and positive aspects, which becomes relevant during periods of disasters that occur in the country. Finally, this work sought to identify aspects that should be monitored and improved. Effective analysis would facilitate the development of a proactive work environment that would benefit the generation of a positive response to Ecuadorian society, which has been affected by the existence of risks and potential disasters within its territory.
