Considerations for Language Teaching in University Education

The present article has the purpose of making a theoretical link between knowledge, language, and its relationship with teaching in order to highlight its importance in professional training. It begins with the definition of knowledge proposed by (Van Dikj. Next, it is proposed: language, as the person responsible for reproducing the mental models of the discursive events of society and learning, as the acquisition of these social representations. Consequently, education is responsible for teaching the proper use of both oral and written language, since its correct use would guarantee the acquisition, reproduction and creation of knowledge, and some data are explained that explain the change of focus in language teaching Finally, some principles based on the discursive and dialogical approach are mentioned, to be taken into account when teaching language. In conclusion, teaching language today implies stopping at the different theories, obtaining as a product the proposal of a model of discursive, dialogical and communicative teaching of language, relying on academic literacy, where its use. Bring the student into the domain of written discourse of different discursive genres to train a competent professional.
