Bergantin: History and Coffee in the Collective Memory of The Anzoatiguens People

This article is an attempt to reveal little-known aspects, myths and stories of the Rural community of the Bergantín Parish of the Simón Bolívar Municipality, which must be present in the Collective Memory of this Anzoatiguenses Town, when studying the social, cultural environment through Its local tradition in order to investigate the customs, habits, experiences, cultural, architectural and natural heritage that are part of a group, are threatened by oblivion, due to the incessant social, technological and cross-cultural changes in the world. globalized, therefore they must be systematized, exploited by linking and contextualizing them with popular knowledge for the knowledge of new generations. Bergantín is a rural enclave in the Bolívar municipality with great potential for sustainable tourism. It is a parish of friendly, hard-working people and ready to welcome with open arms those who are looking for a different option of healthy recreation and direct contact with nature. The theories used in this essay are focused on the reconstruction of the historical coffee memory of Bergantín, in order to understand and interpret it as a coffee town. Among the most relevant conclusions, the following stand out: The local history and the collective memory considered as key tools for the locals, by understanding their development and the genuine sense of belonging, allow the community to rediscover themselves as original beings, rediscover themselves with traditions and customs as part of an identity safeguarding them as cultural heritage. The group will be considered as a permanent link between the community and society, which allows the historical projection.
